IPMN Newsletter 2003 Number 1 |
|
| Dear Colleagues: IPMN Status Update IPMN membership has grown to 825 members from more than 80 nations. Membership can be accessed at www.inpuma.net under members. The membership list is a handy way to locate colleagues in other nations where you may be visiting to conduct research or teach. Scholarly networking through IPMN has proven successful for a number of members. Begun in 1996, IPMN has membership has increased steadily from a core group of about 40 who attended our first conference in St. Gallen, Switzerland in June 1996. Annual IPMN conferences and workshops have been held subsequently in Potsdam, Germany (1997), Salem, Oregon USA (1998), Siena, Italy (1999), Sydney, Australia (2000), Wellington, New Zealand (2000), Odense, Denmark (2001) and again in Siena (2002). The 2003 Workshop will be held in Monterey, California. Planning is underway for future events in Brazil in 2004, Thailand in 2005 and St. Gallen in 2006. IPMN's two journals have been well received. The International Public Management Journal, edited by Fred Thompson (fthompso@willamette.edu) is one of the premier journals in the field. IPMJ is publishing in its sixth year and members recently have received volume 6, no. 1 from our publisher Information Age Publishers www.infoage@infoagepub.com). Our e-journal, The International Public Management Review, edited by Lawrence R. Jones and Kuno Schedler is available at www.ipmr.net. The IPMJ editorial board, composed of more than fifty of the leading scholars in public management from around the globe, and Information Age Publishers hope that you will ask your library to order our print journal as part of your permanent serials collection (www.infoage@infoagepub.com). Our online journal will remain free to all. No special code is required to access IPMR. The Editors of both journals encourage public management scholars to submit their work for publication consideration to either Fred Thompson or to L. R. Jones and Kuno Schedler at ipmnet@aol.com. IPMN and ASPA's Section on Comparative and International Administration Join to Sponsor IPMJ. IPMN and the Section on Comparative and International Administration
(SICA is a section of the American Society for Public Administration)
have joined together to sponsor publication of the International Public
Management Journal. SICA members will receive IPMJ as part of their membership
benefits when they join the Section and ASPA. To represent SICA, three
new members have been added to the IPMJ editorial board. They are Donald
Klingner, Jennifer Brinkerhoff and Jos Raadschelders, University of Oklahoma.
IPMN is very pleased to become formally affiliated with SICA and ASPA
in sponsorship of IPMJ. SICA Chair Professor Donald Klingner, University
of Colorado at Colorado Springs, was instrumental in forging this link
between the Section, IPMN and ASPA. ASPA formally approved the IPMJ sponsorship
agreement at its winter meeting in Washington D.C. in December 2002. IPMJ
encourages members Best Regards, Larry Jones |
